As I sit here, finishing with last minute preparation for the next quarter, I often think of my accomplishments or failures. Where could I have done something different? Or what can I do to make things better? I feel energized and renewed by the new start this coming Monday, I hope you, my students will too! So again, good luck!!! I am looking forward to having some fun.
So, here's what I want you all to hold at the end of this semester: an A+ card!!!

Midterm
This is a moment for pause and reflection, because we have come a long way since September. Months came and went by, students came and left, and grades were recorded. I want all you students to think about what you have accomplished, whether it was to make it through every day, or to get a better grade, or to attend every single class. Then, pat yourselves on the back. You made it! Time to think about next quarter and your next goal.
I am happy to have all of you in class every day. I wish all of you good luck and good learning for the next few months!

Think about the last lesson we did in class. Pick a topic, or concept, ad write a paragraph about it. Address the following points: was it easy to understand, and why, what made it easy or hard, and how will you know that you mastered this concept?

Today is 10-20-2010 and that makes me, a Math person very excited! It gives me the opportunity to speak about PALINDROMES.
What are they? Well, if I use letters a, b, and c I can write: abcba, and that becomes a palindrome. It's that easy! With numbers, of course, you have 12321, or maybe 2365632. So when and where do you see palindromes?

September is going by so fast! We are fast approaching our 4th week of school. My classes are great, and I think most students have fun with Math. Hopefully we can all get gmail accounts this week and then this will become a very populated blog.
